Noticing Beauty in the Dark

Beauty can be found every where and any where.  All you have to do is open your eyes and mind.  We have been fed the same definition of beauty since we were born.  I have noticed that the family units today are trying to educate their kids on acceptance.  Beauty is something that I see inside of someone.  It occurs the moment that someone acknowledges another person.  It continues when they open their mouth to speak.  Until that person walks away and moves on.

I find that someone can also have potential beauty.  I see this in someone who may be rude, loud or mean.  To me, there is such powerful potential in those people.  That is, until those people have worn out their ugliness, to the point one cannot take anymore.

You know what I am talking about.  I have talked about it in a previous blog.  Beauty is not on your skin, but inside of you.  Every person has the potential for beauty.  Like a flower, one, if not treated well and taken care of, can lose their inner beauty, that is, until someone helps them unlock that beauty.  A smile, a greeting, an opportunity, is all it could take to unlock someone…. the real person… the one who can positively impact our world.

Today, we finally took a trip to St. Louis.  I was able to capture a few pictures.  Even though it was cold and dank, I was able to find beauty there.

Please remember that one person can make a difference.  All we need to do is make a difference for one person.  It does not take a hero.  It takes one person who can smile or talk to someone else.

Be the person that you want other people to be.
